Servicing LG Appliances Around Austin
TrueFix Austin is an independent service that repairs LG appliances in Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park & Leander and Georgetown. The technician works from the model number, traces the fault before quoting, and tells you up front when a discontinued part means using a compatible equivalent.
Storms & Outages
A control board that stays dark after a power cut, or a water line that split in a hard freeze, is checked before the appliance is run again.
Condos & High-Rises
Compact 24-inch dishwashers and stacked laundry are common. Service-elevator time and any insurance certificate are arranged with management before the visit.
Built-In & Panel-Ready
Built-in refrigeration, wall ovens and panel-ready dishwashers sit in cabinetry made to fit them, so removal is planned before the visit.
Gas, Radiant or Induction
Many newer homes and towers are all-electric. Whether the unit runs on gas, radiant elements or induction changes the diagnosis from the first test.

No. TrueFix Austin is an independent repair service. It repairs LG appliances but is not LG, a LG dealer or a manufacturer service agent. If your appliance is still inside the manufacturer's warranty period, check that coverage with LG first, because an outside repair can affect it.
The LG categories covered are refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher, oven, microwave, freezer, cooktop, stove, range, the ones LG actually builds. Each has its own page with the faults that come up on that line.
It is LG's built-in diagnostic. On newer models it runs through the ThinQ app; on older ones the appliance plays a series of tones into your phone. The result points at the system at fault, and sharing it when you book helps the technician prepare.
Yes. LG builds its own platform, so its parts are its own rather than shared with another family of brands (Kenmore models that LG built are the exception, and use LG parts). Most common parts are readily available, and the model number identifies the exact ones.
LG appliance repair around Austin
LG builds refrigerators, laundry, dishwashers, ranges and microwaves around a few signature technologies: direct-drive washer motors, linear and inverter compressors, and SmartDiagnosis through the ThinQ app. It reports faults with short letter codes that make a good starting point for a diagnosis.
A few things specific to LG: on LG washers the motor is mounted directly on the drum shaft with no belt in the drivetrain, so belt trouble never happens and the wear moves to the rotor, stator and tub bearings — listen for a rumble under load or play in the drum rather than any sign of slipping. The linear compressor in LG refrigeration moves its piston in a straight line with no crankshaft in between; it runs quieter and uses less power, but testing it calls for a different sealed-system procedure than the reciprocating compressors most other brands use. And most recent LG models can play a diagnostic audio signal into the manufacturer's phone app, and running it while you are booking the call gives the technician a head start on the fault before the visit.
What tends to fail on LG appliances
Refrigeration: LG refrigerators report faults on the display: Er FF points at the freezer fan, Er dH at the defrost heater circuit and Er CO at communication between the main board and the display. Frost on the rear panel, an ice maker that stops, and a fan that ticks against ice are the usual LG freezer calls, and Er FF or Er dH on the display narrows it to the fan or the defrost circuit.
Laundry: The codes carry most of the diagnosis: OE is a drain problem, IE a fill problem, UE an unbalanced load, LE a locked or overloaded motor, dE a door or lid switch fault and PE the water-level sensor. The d80, d90 and d95 codes are Flow Sense warnings that the exhaust is about 80, 90 or 95 percent restricted: a vent problem, not a dryer fault. tE1 and tE2 point at the thermistors, and a long dry time with no code usually means a blocked vent or a heating part near the end of its life.
Dishwashers: OE means the dishwasher could not drain, usually a clogged filter, a kinked drain hose or a blocked disposer connection; IE means it could not fill; AE or E1 means water has reached the leak float in the base.
Cooking: Temperature complaints on LG ovens usually trace to the sensor, a bake or convection element, or on gas models the igniter. On LG induction cooktops, an error during a long, hot cook is usually the cooling fan or the ventilation below, and a zone that does not detect the pan is often the cookware.
Microwaves: LG microwaves that stop heating usually have a failed magnetron, or on inverter models a failed inverter board; a unit that is completely dead often has a blown fuse behind a worn door switch.
What LG repairs typically involve in Austin
As a mass-market brand, LG is usually easy on the repair budget: parts are made in volume, suppliers carry them widely, and most failures come down to ordinary components rather than proprietary assemblies. Pumps, valves, switches, thermal cut-offs, belts, igniters and fan motors are generally easy to get, which is why many LG repairs can be finished quickly once the fault is identified.
